as fuel.
There is no God, it says,
only mechanics. Cause. Effect.
The Atom
is both machine and art--
emits both color and music.
The smudged lens
they left behind is
little clearer than when they found it.
We can look with all our tools and
just the same
we won't really see
to the other side
until we cross it.
